Object Description
Circa 1860, exhibition quality carved drum head, glazed door grandfather clock by J. W. Mitchell of Glasgow. In the classic style of the period, the drum head is profusely carved with designs of C scrolls and flower heads, and the face has the makers name of J. W. Mitchell, and a calendar. There is a glazed door, and beneath the hood are mouldings with a full length door that has an arched top. Inside is a wood and brass pendulum, and the weights are visible through the door. The bottom has a bombe shape, and it is all standing on squat bracket feet. This will be serviced and working.
