Object Description

Large carved wood sculpture of the Madonna of the Immaculate Conception, standing, her hands in prayer, on a cloud base with three cherubim and the crescent moon; her robes falling in elaborate folds, beautifully decorated in polychrome with scrolling floral designs and borders. Spain, mid 18th century.

Object Condition

Historic worm damage, the plinth particularly peppered with exit holes. Treated. Some small losses to the edge of her cloak.
