Object Description
Here we have a very rare and possibly unique Victorian Tunbridge ware Walnut chest of drawers c1870. As you can see the chest has fantastic colour and patina. The beautiful figured Walnut panels are edged with a stunning and intricate specimen wood border which is chamfered. The drawers also have a chequered banding again in specimen woods. The drawers retain the original turned wooden knobs and have the most delicious quilted silk lining and braided brocade edge. The whole sits on wonderful squashed bun feet. The back is also finished in figured Walnut. A supreme example of Tunbridge ware and certainly one for the collector. The chest is in retail condition and the dimensions are approx 42 cm wide 30 cm high 22 cm deep.
