Object Description
An early 20th century Mah-Jongg set in a black lacquered wood box.
The box has a slide up panel the reveals a five drawer interior.
The drawers hold the bone and bamboo pieces, counters dice and instructions and one drawer has a replace knob handle.
The slide up front panel and the sides of the box are decorated with birds and foliage that are highlighted in gilt.
The top of the box has a pair of white metal handles that are engraved with Chinese characters.
The set is complete with all the Mah-Jongg pieces and a later book of instructions and the box is in good condition with some repairs to chips in the Lacquer. (Circa 1920)
