Chinese hardstone flower model in a cloisonné enamel pot

Crafted in 20th century China, this charming flower model is crafted from various materials such as carnelian, jade, and cloisonné enamel.
The orange-tinted carnelian stone is expertly carved to depict petals, all joined together with red wiring. The stigmas are crafted from wire with vivid yellow detailing. Deep green jade is carved to depict variously sized leaves all interspersed among the flowers. From the metal tree trunk extends a number of thread-covered wire branches.
The planter is adorned with polychrome flowers and foliage on a black background. Its base and top are painted gold bringing out the fine metal wire detailing of the cloisonné enamelling.
