Object Description

A Chinese hollow-formed standing figure in calf-length robes from the Tang Dynasty. The hands are depicted in a reverent pose resting flat on the hip and chest. The figure is wearing a cap and likely traditional Tang dynasty attire. The statuette is rendered in sancai technique, displaying remnants of a lovely ochre glaze, which is most visible on the back of the figure.

Object Condition

Good condition. Pigment loss, wear and earthy encrustations consistent with age of item. Small chip on the front above the legs.
