Object Description
No: 11096
A fine Chippendale Period Mahogany Tea Caddy with a moulded rectangular top opening to show three mahogany lidded compartments and the whole raised on shaped bracket feet.
The rococo brass handle and escutcheon are original and the handle is the same as that used by Thomas Chippendale in 1759 on the Breakfront Bookcase made for the Yellow Bedroom at Dumfries House.
The quality of the Mahogany used in this example is also exceptional.
