Object Description
This wonderful Kovsh (an ornamental drinking vessel) was created at the start of the 20th Century in Imperial Russia. Made of 875 grade silver, the Kovsh is of oval form and features a long handle and a mounted prow. The body of the Kovsh is decorated with elaborate cloisonné enamel motifs, such as interlaced foliate scrolls and bands of solid colour, all executed in blue, green, red, and white enamel. The Kovsh is stamped underneath with ‘AO’ and with ‘84’, which signals 875 grade silver.
