Object Description

A fine and exquisite quality Kashkuls, the collection consist of 13 Kashkuls in the typical form, profusely engraved with inscription-filled.

Kashkul referred to as the beggar’s bowl is a container carried by wandering Dervishes and used to collect money and other goods usually after a street session of poetry recitation, religious eulogies, advice or entertainment.

Dervish is refer to a members of a Sufi fraternity, or more narrowly to a religious mendicant, who chose or accepted material poverty.
