Object Description

A collection of reclaimed encaustic tiles sourced from a UK private collection. This superb collection includes tiles by Minton, Maw & Co, W Godwin, and Campbell Brick & Tile Co.

Dating to between circa 1860 to 1880, these encaustic English 6 inch tiles are of Pugin style and are detailed with various patterns and colours. One displays a striking passion flower while others show stylised star like floral patterns. The perfect decorative collection for period and contemporary properties alike.
Varying between glazed and unglazed, these impressive tiles have a characterful, timeworn look that only enhances their beauty.

Each tile is 15cm x 15cm, varying between 2cm to 2.5cm deep (6in x 6in, 0.78in to 0.98in deep).
This set of 5 tiles weigh 5kg.

Object Condition

Good structural condition. No visible breaks. Smalls chips and scuffs to larger chips. The white passion flower by Maw & Co has the most surface wear and is unglazed, others are glazed.
