Object Description
Contemporary Handwoven Arts and Crafts Carpet
3.90 x 3.16 m
A contemporary interpretation of 19th century English Arts & Crafts carpets, particularly those of the renowned textile designer, C.F. A. Voysey, whose works were largely inspired by those of William Morris, as well as by the Art Nouveau movement, and many of which are exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
This example, finely hand-woven in Iran with vegetable-dyed colours and soft, handspun wool, features a soft sky blue field, overlaid with floral designs in rich ochre and sage green tones, and framed by a wide aubergine grey border.
A timeless and stylish rug to complement a wide variety of settings.
