Cunha Majolica Palissy toad & lizard wall plate

Object Description

Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a large toad and lizard, surrounded by a smaller lizard, frog, moths, worm and grubs. Colouration: green, brown, cream, are predominant. The piece bears maker’s marks for the Cunha pottery.

Good. Any damage, wear, original manufacturing defects (kiln effects) or restoration that may be present, is minor and not detracting.
