Object Description
A very stylish Art Nouveau Doulton Lambeth jug decorated with leaf and floral designs by renowned junior artists Annie Partridge and Georgian Pearson and dating from around 1905. The stoneware jug stands raised on a wide round foot with a round bulbous shaped body with a narrow ring top and tall narrow funnel neck with a small pinched sparrow beak pouring spout. A raised loop hand is applied to the side. The jug is decorated with stylized flower heads and leaves set within a scrolling raised beadwork border. The leaves on graduating beaded stems are decorated in white against a mottled blue and brown ground while the flower heads are also applied in a white slip with blue and brown decoration and set against a mottled brown ground. The jug has impressed makers marks to the base along with an incised GP monogram for Georgina Pearson and impressed marks for Annie Partridge.
