Object Description

An elegant resting armchair , model ” Rond Bas Magnin ” or ” Boudoir du Collectionneur ” in solid African mahogany .
The visible frame surround the rounded back, the armrests that widen in flat cuffs at right angles to the front upright .
The low band that surrounds the seat rests on silver-plated bronze egg-shaped legs .
The back , the seat and the upholstery cushions are covered with a blue silk velvet .
Bears the bot iron signature stamp on the side strut .
Model created in 1918 .
Itemized in the Ruhlmann reference catalogue under numbers 35 AR – 222 NR .

The double appellation of this pair of armchairs which we present you, created in 1918 by Jacques Emile Ruhlmann, were changed by the creator circa 1925. He endowed thems with egg-shaped feet in order to exhibit that ones in the boudoir of Hotel of the Collector with the «Oreille cassée» armchairs model.
