E. W. Godwin (attributed) Made by James Peddle or Smee.

An oak armchair with an ergonomically perfectly shaped back, a very comfortable armchair indeed with sabre back legs and turned angled front legs all connected by a crinoline hoop stretcher. The turned arm supports connect to the square sections which follow down through the sides of the seat meeting the top of the legs.

A design Godwin also used for the back legs of his Old English and Jacobean Armchairs that were made by William Watt.
