Object Description

Queen Anne Period English Walnut Chest Of Drawers
Retaining Excellent Rich Colour And Patina Throughout
Having Superbly Figured, Crossbanded & Herringboned
Top, Sides & Drawer Fronts With Replacement Brasswear
Raised On Replacement Turned Bun Feet

(Its worth taking a moment to consider that this piece of furniture
is over 300 years old, yet as fit for purpose as the day it was
made, as well as being both very beautiful and in excellent condition.
The top, sides and drawer fronts have all been cross banded and
herringboned and it is always a perceived sign of quality when as
much effort appears to have been made by the cabinet maker to
decorate the sides as well as the top and drawer fronts as this
was not always the case! Both the handles and feet are later
replacements, but that is pretty common for chests of this age and
both been thoughtfully done with the newer variants very much
of the design which would have been in place originally. All in all an
extremely useful, beautiful & functional piece that has been in
existence for 3 centuries already!).
