Object Description
An Extremely Attractive And Very Good Quality Early 18th Century, Queen Anne Period, Walnut Wall Hanging Corner Cupboard, Of Exceptional Untouched Colour And Patina, Having Elegant Fielded Panel Door, With Original Brasswear Enclosing Shaped Shelves.
Corner cupboards, particularly hanging ones, are of course a great solution to a room which is lacking storage and already has full walls. This is of course due to the fact they can be mounted in the corner and add a decent amount more of functional storage to a space which wouldn’t be in use otherwise. They also of course add real elegance and a slightly different dimension.
This is a great example, very early in terms of its date, dating from the Queen Anne period in fact and it has certainly survived in great condition. Clearly well cherished throughout its life, the many years of polishing, cleaning and day to day use has led to it retaining a quite glorious colour and patina that is simply impossible to replicate.
Overall the condition is extremely good, just a few old marks, scuffs, scatches and dents which are to be expected on a piece of furniture which has been well used and is over 300 years old. It also comes supplied with working lock and key.
As with all items which we list for sale this queen anne corner cupboard has received a natural wax polish by our traditional antique furniture restorers before being advertised for sale.
