Object Description
An early 19th century French Charles X (circa 1825) mahogany console table with marble top.
This console table consists of a white marble top with rounded corners to the front supported on a finely figured mahogany base with moulded edge to the top.
This leads down to a finely figured mahogany frieze drawer with fine quality ormolu patera to the centre and intricate anthemion mounts to either side with rounded corners and finely figured mahogany ends.
The table is supported by tapering cabriole legs to the front with fine quality foliate and anthemion ormolu mounts to the top with recessed circular decoration and central carved paterae.
This leads down to a square double moulded collar with finely carved paw feet to the front, the rear supports of fine quality mahogany veneer with original mirror plate all supported on a concave shaped figured mahogany plinth base with turned feet to the front and block feet to the rear.
This table is in very good original condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
