Object Description

Circa 1830. Fine quality early 19th century inlaid mahogany Dutch commode or chest. The rectangular top with double chevron inlay and corners inlaid with flowers or centrally a large conch shell inlay; the checquered frieze in exotic woods above three drawers with gilded brass ring handles with cast bakc plates and shaped brass escutcheons. The drawer fronts with double panels of matching inlay, flanked by further foliate inlay. Supported on inlaid rectangular feet. In perfect condition.
