A large early 19th century English Regency convex mirror in a round gilt and partially ebonized frame. The frame features gilt balls, a pearl frieze as well as a geometrical band ornament. The mirror is crowned by an elaborately carved and ebonized figure of an eagle sitting on top of a small gilt pedestal spreading its wings. The pedestal is framed by two large and impressive acanthus leaf scrolls. The bottom of the mirror is decorated by a large acanthus leaf ornament.
Impressive piece of elaborate carving with beautiful patina, matching perfectly with a classical as well as a modern ambiance.
