Object Description
Very unusual and very fine quality Regency sofa table in burr elm. This table is exceptionally well made, with double lopers to support the ends, end support leg structure, cross banding, stringing, very precise dovetails and very crisp carving all round. The cluster column support is a lovely design and the ebony and ebonising contrast the elm very well. This is a very useful sort of table, being narrow front to back and quite long it looks good when standing behind sofa or against a wall and as it is free standing it can also be used in the middle of a room as an desk.
