An elegant early 20 Century black lacquered Chinoiserie writing table with the original leather insert.
England Circa 1910-20.
Of an elegant and unusual form this antique writing table is decorated with black lacquer and Chinoiserie having raised gilded and painted oriental scenes. The rectangle breakfront top retains the original leather insert full of character with a wonderful patina, enclosed by a chinoiserie decorated boarded, over one large central bow fronted drawer with two smaller flanking drawers each with original brass engraved drop handles having what looks to be a makers stamped number to the underside of the drops.
Able to stand freely within the room being finished to all sides this fine writing / side table is raised on six elegant legs decorated with trailing flowers and pierced spandrels.
In wonderful original condition with signs of wear associated with age and use this very decorative table will make a fine addition to both a contemporary and traditional setting.
