4.65 x 1.10 m
Azerbaijan has a rich history of rug weaving, going back several centuries. Thanks to its geographic location, standing at the crossroads of various cultures, its rugs bear showcase a unique artistic style, and are highly sought after for their wide range of designs and creative use of vegetable dyes colours.
This stylish runner, dated to 1923, features a simple drawing over a soft tobacco field, with a subtle variation in shade which adds a great depth and richness to the piece, and complements the wide array of well-aged vegetable-dyed colours in its design.
Preserved in very good to excellent condition, still retaining its original borders and short fringes on both sides, this runner would add character and charm to any setting.
