Object Description
An early 20th century (circa 1910) Chinese black lacquered four-leaf freestanding screen or room divider.
This screen consists of four leaves with black laquered backgound and gilt decoration, each leaf having three panels with hand decorated Chinoiserie scenes of foliate, floral and bird designs with Chinese characters, the reverse side of the screen consisting of hand painted Chinese characters.
This screen is in very good condition for age, is of stabe construction and can go straight into a home – it is very verstile as a room divider as it has decoration to both sides and can be folded to different widths.
