Object Description

An early 20th century inverted breakfront walnut writing desk in the Queen Ann style.

The top has a slightly worn brown leather segmented top divided with burr walnut crossbanding.

One side of the desk has five burr walnut drawers with mahogany linings and original brass handles.

The opposite side of the desk consists of two cupboards with doors and a central compartment.

This desk is a freestanding piece and has fluted, cantered corners with a shaped and moulded frieze to the bottom of the desk.

This leads down to cabriole legs, all with carved shell decoration to the knee and terminating with acanthus on the foot.

This piece is in very good condition and can go straight into a home or office – one leather panel has been replaced at some point over the years but is a good match.
