Object Description
Good early Georgian walnut veneered two part tallboy or chest on chest. The base section with three long drawers and original high bracket feet. The top section with 3 over 3 drawer configuration with nice shape cornice. The drawers all have a moulded edge with feather banding and cross banded edges. The drawers are oak lined. The ends of the tallboy are all veneered in walnut. All the mouldings on the piece are walnut cross grain.
The tallboy is in very good condition. I would say it has been through a workshop in Edwardian times, having been tidyed up and sympathetically re-polished. At the same time the handles and locks have been replaced as these are both Edwardian replacements.
The tallboy is a nice colour and waxes up well. It is also a good size, being not too big.
