Object Description

A very pretty and useful early Regency period Nest of 3 Rosewood Tables, the rectangular tops with rounded corners raised on 4 turned columns with slipper feet and bowed stretchers. Attributed to Gillows of Lancaster.

Object History

Note: In the Gillows records sets of 3 were made as early as 1797. One of the partners sent a sketch to a customer and informed him “The sketch ‘d’ is a sort of a work table which exactly answer your description & of which we sell a great many but we always make them 3 together to slide one within the other to set by in a room of one “
