Object Description
A fine Edwardian brooch, in platinum. The brooch is centred by a 0.25 carat (approx.) rubover set old mine cut diamonds which ‘floats’ within an almond shaped border set with a further six slightly smaller rubover set old mine cuts which are inter-spaced by a total of 14 rose cut diamonds. Diamond set trefoil flourishes at the top and bottom of the brooch add the finishing touch.
Cut: The seven larger diamonds are old mine cuts. Rose cut diamonds are set in the border and eight-cut diamonds are in the trefoils at the top and bottom.
Colour: The diamonds range from H to J.
Clarity: The diamonds range from VS1 ro SI2; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat: The centre is approximately 0.25 carat, with a total approximate carat weight of 1.32.
Circa: 1910.
Measurements: 26.7 x 24.2mm.
Weight: 2.42 grams.
Metal: The brooch is platinum. The pin is 9k white gold. Tested with a Niton DXL Precious Metal Analyzer.
