Object Description

This sapphire and diamond antique cocktail ring is packed with different techniques, which come together beautifully. The central diamond is secured at the cardinal points by gold wire, attaching it to an openwork mount pavé-set with cushion-shaped diamonds alternating with stripes of calibré-cut sapphires. This extraordinary central section is supported by shoulders designed as leaves and embellished with additional diamonds – a wonderful finishing touch to this imaginative, technically accomplished and extremely attractive jewel.

Metal Composition: Platinum

Central diamond; Length 5.7mm; Width 5.7mm; Depth; 3.3mm. Approximate weight: 0.60ct. Clarity; VS1 Colour; G. Cut; transitional brilliant-cut.

Surrounding diamond weight: 0.40ct. Average Clarity; VS2 Colour; G/H. Cut; single-cut. All diamonds very bright, lively and matching, all appear original to the ring.

Sapphire : Total sapphire weight: 0.60ct (estimated)

Band Size:
UK M 1/2 / US 6.25. Single complimentary re-size available. This ring can easily be re-sized.

Date & Design Period: Circa 1900 | Edwardian

Treatment: Unheated/untreated (assessed by our GIA qualified gemologist). The sapphire is likely to be of Sri Lankan origin, this will be stated on the certificate of authenticity.

Object Condition

Condition and Wear: Excellent. Minor wear commensurate with age. All stones secure, safely set in settings with platinum fully covering each stone, no damage to the setting. No scratches, cracks or chips to the stones.
