Object Description
Edwardian Ceylon sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring. Centrally set with a round old cut natural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an open back split fancy claw setting with an approximate weight of 10.20 carats, encircled by a single row of twenty seven round eight cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.27 carats, to an impressive circular cluster with stylised claws, subtle scalloped edging, millegrain borders, intricately pierced open gallery, ribbed base and fancy backholing, flanked by inwardly tapering shoulders with incised decoration which curve to a solid shank. Tested yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1915, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #78155-65.
