Object Description

Arch top mantel clock standing on four brass bun feet with gilded decoration and brass bezel. Silvered dial with engine turned centre, Arabic numerals, original ‘blued’ steel hands signed ‘Finnigans’.

The house of Finnigans was a British luxury luggage and trunk maker, originally established in Manchester in 1830. Later having retail premises in New Bond Street, London. Finnigans was one of the finest leather goods makers of their day they quickly moved into producing a range of luxury goods including trunks, fashion, bags, jewellery, timepieces and silverware. The firm finally closed it’s Bond Street store in 1968 and it’s final shop in 1988.

Object Condition

very good condition, the clock movement has been completely stripped down and overhauled and is in full working order
