Edwardian Walnut Cased Grandmother Clock
Edwardian Grandmother clock housed in a walnut case with raised plinth and standing on bracket feet. The base panel decorated with boxwood and ebony chequered stringing, long break arch trunk door with chequered stringing and raised moulding.
The sides of the trunk with canted corners and chequered stringing. Pagoda top hood with reeded pillars and brass capitals.
Brass dial with gilded spandrels, raised silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and half hour markers. Beautifully engraved dial centre and original finely cut ‘blued’ steel hands. Raised silvered boss to the arch engraved ‘Tempus Fugit’.
Eight day weight driven movement with anchor escapement, lead weights and original brass covered bob pendulum, striking the hours on a large bell. C.1910
