Object Description
A fine Egyptian amulet carved from black hardstone in the form of a stylised dolphin, dating to the Ptolemaic Period. The mammal features a curved body, tapering from the rounded head towards the tail which is flattened and displays a notch on the outer edge. Two perpendicular linear incisions decorate the head, representing the facial features. The amulet is perforated horizontally through the head for suspension.
