Object Description

An Egyptian blue faience amulet depicting a rolled papyrus sceptre known as wadj in Ancient Egyptian. The body is shaped in typical column form, tapering towards the bottom. The top flares outwards to a splayed terminal with a loop, decorated with vertical ridges, for suspension. Three incised bands are visible below the terminal.

Period: Late Period

Very fine condition, some encrustation visible to the surface. Minor hole to the top of the loop.
