Object Description
A beautiful, restrung, ancient Egyptian necklace composed of bright red carnelian beads in various shapes. The majority of the necklace is made up of alternating groups of round beads and elongated teardrop-shaped beads. The middle of the necklace is decorated with a Wedjat amulet. The amulet is finely carved and displays the recognisable shape of the Eye of Horus, smooth and highly polished on both sides. A group of two hanging teardrop beads flank a poppy seed bead on either side of the central amulet. The colour differentiation showcases the natural beauty and versatility of the precious stone. The necklace terminates in a modern, gold-plated clasp.
