Object Description
A fine Egyptian carnelian scarab with incised detailing, forming a ridged carapace and naturalistic features. The incisions display the elytra, prothorax with the head and two eyes above. The reverse has been left unadorned. The amulet has been perforated longitudinally for suspension, and is surrounded by a gold mount decorated with two encircling ridges and a ring of hollow, domed granules to either end of the perforation.
