Object Description
An Egyptian turquoise-glazed faience ushebti, named for Nesy-Amun. The shabti is depicted mummiform, light blue in colour, with details painted in black; including the eyes, brows and the lappets of the tripartite wig. Around the wig he wears a fillet. His hands are clasped, crossed at the chest, and depicted holding a painted hoe in each fist. To the reverse is a painted seed sack on his back.
There are three horizontal bands of painted hieroglyphs, divided by a black line. The translation reads:
“The Osiris, fourth prophet of Amun-Re, king of the gods, Nesi-amun, justified”.
