Object Description

A small Ancient Egyptian amulet, made from lapis lazuli, in the form of a djed pillar. The amulet features a thin shaft that flares out at its base. The top displays a ribbed pattern, with a stepped protrusion at the top completing the composition. The reverse features another rectangular protrusion, through which the amulet has been perforated horizontally for suspension.

Object Condition

Fine condition. One corner of the top protrusion is slightly chipped. Minor scratches and surface pitting as consistent with its age. Remnants of a blue adhesive used for mounting by previous owner to the reverse.
