Object Description
A fine Ancient Egyptian lapis lazuli amulet depicting the wedjat eye, or Eye of Horus. The amulet features the typical silhouette, combining human and falcon ocular imagery. The top horizontal line represents the brow, and the sloping protrusion beneath depicts the corner of the almond-shaped eye. The vertical rectangle beneath the eye represents the cheek mark, from which the amulet curves to a flat end. The surface is smooth except for careful grooves adding detail above the brow and behind the cheek mark. A rectangular ridged protrusion features at the top of the amulet. Natural striations of orange and brown are displayed alongside the deep blue colouration of the lapis lazuli. The amulet is in excellent condition, with very minor wear and encrustations to the surface.
