Object Description

A beautiful restrung ancient Egyptian necklace, featuring alternating long tubular and short spherical beads. The tubular beads are made of white, light green and dark green faience, whilst the smaller, spherical beads are coloured yellow. The necklace is not finished with a clasp.

Date: Circa 1550 – 655 BC
Period: New Kingdom – Third Intermediate Period
Provenance: Private Collection, Germany, with Aton Gallery, Oberhausen, September 2003. Ex Arnold Meijer collection, the Netherlands, acquired from the former. Bonhams, London, Antiquities, July 2023, Lot 95.
