Egyptian Turquoise Faience Headrest Amulet

Object Description

An ancient Egyptian amulet made of turquoise faience and shaped like a headrest. The amulet features a curved top profile, cinched in the middle and broadening outwards at the base. The base is rectangular in shape. The amulet is pierced longitudinally for suspension. Please note the small dimensions of this amulet.

Ex English collection, AB, acquired 1920s-40, passed by descent.

Object Condition

Very fine. Some encrustation to the outside and within the suspension chanel, but not fully blocked. Glaze still vivid.
