Embroidered Silkwork picture of boy on a rearing horse. Framed in an old maple frame with rippled, old glass. Fixed to board. The embroidery is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches. Pictorial scene set in a mountainous landscape. Handpainted to his face.

Object Condition

Very Good. No holes. No stitch losses. Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. The silks bright and glossy. No colour run. Neatly and evenly stretched. Frame showing wear and chips, but structurally sound.
