Object Description
An important enclosed chest of drawers in two parts, the walnut and oak carcase decorated with architectural mouldings and veneers of walnut and ebony with applied bone decorative roundels and bone handles. The panelled sides of solid walnut, the two plank solid walnut top framed on three sides, the upper section with a shallow long drawer above a deep drawer, the lower section with a pair of doors enclosing three plain oak drawers with simple mouldings. Raised on turned oak bun feet at the front and stiles at the back. English, Charles I, circa 1640
