Object Description
A Fine Quality Pair Of Mid 19th Century English Burr Walnut
Dwarf Open Bookcases Of Good Proportions Having
Superbly Figured Rectangular Tops Over Adjustable
Shelves And Extremely Well Figured Ends Raised On
Original Plinth Bases
(These bookcases are a good bold size in terms of height
and width whilst managing to remain relatively shallow which
of course significantly broadens the appeal in terms of spaces
they could be used. They offer an enormous amount of storage
and the adjustable shelves allow for books, dvd’s etc of a variety
of different sizes to be stored in them. The construction is of
excellent quality and this is evidenced by the panelled backs and
choice of exceptionally well figured walnut veneers not just for the
tops but for the ends as well. They also have a solid and sturdy feel
to them which is important to somebody who may be planning to
fill them to the brim with heavy books etc. It is pretty rare to find a
pair of this quality and style still together after all these years and
that combined with the functionality will no doubt combine to
create a very happy and satisfied end purchaser)
