Object Description

A beautiful antique English Victorian wall mounted sink basin by Johnson Brothers (stamped), decorated with a polychrome floral pattern transfer print.

Dating from the early 20th century, this unusual sink is a unique piece for a character bathroom. It features a single original brass tap, two soap dishes and an original waste with plug.

This antique sink was originally made by British manufacturers, Johnson Brothers, specifically for the export retail market, hence why it is also marked with a European stamp. Whether this sink ever went to Europe and returned, we do not know. It does however remain a heritage piece of bathroom sanitaryware, ideal for styling in a vintage cloakroom or Victorian bathroom.

Object Condition

Good structural condition. Minor firing flaws. Small repaired chips to the edge of the right soap dish. Fitted with original brass tap, plug and waste. Screws to the wall via four holes.
