Object Description
This excellent quality Campagna shaped mug was made in London in 1824 by Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard and measures 5 inches tall by 3 5/8 inches in dia across the top and 3 `1/8 inches across the base, it has a cast and scrolled handle with large acanthus leaf thumb piece and flower head and foliage decoration below, the foot has an acanthus leaf border and collar leading into large acanthus leaves and flower head decoration around the bottom of the bowl which in turn leads to a panelled design up to the lip with a large band of cast fruiting vine leaves. It is gilded to the interior and is fully and clearly hallmarked to the side – the quality is exceptional as is the condition and it weighs a hefty 13.30 ounces or 414 grams.
