Object Description
A stunning fragment from a large geode preserving an intense bed of deep purple small sized amethyst crystals. to the right we see the rocket shaped cast formed by a second generation of amethystine quartz growing over a calcite, which subsequently dissolved – a phenomenon known as epimorphism.
