Object History

Rug weaving in the Persian city of Qum only started at the beginning of the 20th century and the city quickly established itself as a centre of exceptional fine weaving. During the middle of the 20th century the city became influential in the weaving of pure silk rugs and carpets of exquisite detail and exceptional fineness.
