Object Description
This exceptionally rare Victorian silver travelling inkwell was made in London in 1868 by WW & ID and measures 2 3/8 inches long by almost 2 inches wide and is almost 1 inch deep, it bears the engraved name of SABINE to the front and it has a tilting mechanism whereby the centre stands up and the frame remains flat and there is a lid that when opened reveals a glass inkwell – making it very stable and easy to use and inside the lid there is a cork fitting that fits tightly on so there is no spillage – a very unusual inkwell!
