Object Description
This gorgeous, neutral Sarouk carpet was created around late 19th century and is an excellent example of the work that made this type of weaving. This elegant Sarouk carpet has a subtle colour field which compliments the well balanced overall drawing. The main border is generously wide and frames the central field nicely. Another attractive feature is that the colours of the central area as well as the main borders are the same rather than contrasting ones usually seen in other examples. A charming example that will be a great addition to a variety of spaces, rare in this squarish format.
